While looking up patterns that were innately Indian in origin I came across this incredible artist that designs moving Mandalas that are mesmerizing and had to share with you!
This work is by Elias Zacarias who is an emerging artist from Mexico City. Here's what he had to say "My work its a tribute to the universe and tries to get people to enter on higher levels of consciousness by the closest representation I can do of the indescribable. Mandalas represent to me the fountain of love that forever expands they are rabbit holes that take us to other dimensions."
If you aren't familiar with the term, here's what Wiki says about Mandalas:
Mandala (Sanskrit: मण्डल Maṇḍala, 'circle') is a spiritual and ritual symbol in Hinduism and Buddhism, representing the Universe. The basic form of most mandalas is a square with four gates containing a circle with a center point. Each gate is in the general shape of a T. Mandalas often exhibit radial balance.
The term is of Sanskrit origin. It appears in the Rig Veda as the name of the sections of the work, but is also used in other religions and philosophies, particularly Buddhism.
In various spiritual traditions, mandalas may be employed for focusing attention of practitioners and adepts, as a spiritual guidance tool, for establishing a sacred space, and as an aid to meditation and trance induction.
In common use, mandala has become a generic term for any diagram, chart or geometric pattern that represents the cosmos metaphysically or symbolically; a microcosm of the universe.
I could sit and look at them for hours. Reminds me of when I was a child looking through a kaleidoscope or sitting in church on Sunday starting at the stained glass patterns when the sun shined through.
